WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item upgrader kit used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item upgrades level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade items process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
