World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all the upgraded perks (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the fact that many perks must be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

The level of an item is a widely used measurement of power and can be found on all item tooltips. It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is limited to the lower levels). The average item level can be found on the character sheet.

The level of an item can help players compare the strength of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's a measure of the damage and quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done using the item level.

The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are various theories about how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that determines how much an item's stats are worth. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets increase the value of the item. This can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl, which is usually close to Blizzard's actual item level.

This isn't the only factor that affects the value of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped can change its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to motivate players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item upgrader mod add by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or other special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to distinguish them by adding a name.

At present, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circling arrows. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and other items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat within that range unless they are an item that is unique or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another thing that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. Similar to base equipment, it will have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is especially useful in the early game, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted by using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck or to boost the luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be found in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are a costly process and not every upgrade item will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item in the event that it fails.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%..

The luck of an item may affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every Best item upgrader has a base success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by 5%.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
